A Fresh Start

I have been exploring new resources for my senior project, and throughout my process I have been hearing this little birdie inside my head say "practice what you preach"! Here I am writing about vegetarian resources, but yet I hardly eat my vegetables, I drink 3 cups of coffee a day, and can barely use yogic breathing to calm down my stress and anxiety levels. So this year, I am going to change all that! Thanks to Kris Carr's new book "Crazy Sexy Diet",
http://tinyurl.com/crazysexydiet, I am going to embark on a 21 day journey and cleanse out all of the negativity I have that is holding me back from being a true "wellness warrior" as Kris calls it. Join me on this journey, and let's create a revolution.
I know it's gonna be hard not to drink my daily morning joe, or eat those yummy cookies I just baked.. or the leftover pizza in the fridge (yikes!).. but it's time to start practicing what I preach. Hopefully by the end of the next 21 days I can say not only that I've been a vegetarian for ten years, but that I eat my veggies too :)
Make those green smoothies and not war, fellow wellness god(dess)es! And post here, on your fb/twitter, or on the csl community how your doing.
Peace and new beginnings,
Heather

New Year, New Start

Just waiting for Warren to ask "how ya feelin?". Up bright and early this morning, excited about bringing in the New Year with Gov't Mule tonight.
I cant remember if this is my fourth or fifth NYE with mule?! But one thing is for sure it will be my first one single. But, I don't feel like I'll be "alone". There is a community among the crowd(and on stage). A community that have taken me on a wonderful ride of discovery this year.

Last new year's I made a "10 for 10 new years resolutions". I forgot all about it the entire year, and just found it last week. To my surprise I got a solid 7 out of 10 of them done this year without even looking over the list. I feel if we set our minds out to do something, we can accomplish anything we want. I was more open and met a bunch of new people this year. I took another trip with my best friend. I went to a festival alone for the first time, and even camped out..and drove all the way to Maine for it. I took a bunch of trips to Woodstock, and went to my first Midnight Ramble at Levon Helm's studio. I also got in touch with my fellow female warriors at Omega's Women and Power Conference, and also the Ladies Who Launch conference for women entrepreneurs.

2010 brought a lot of firsts for me. And, not always good. I got into my first car accident, actually two within the year. The first was a head on accident, someone hit into me on St. Patty's day going off of the highway. The second my car blew up after hitting into a tree. Literally, I saw my car blow up in flames in front of my eyes. There was a lady who got me out of the car in time. I am so fortunate for my angels and goddesses that give me this gift of life every day. We don't realize how quickly it can go by until it might be taken away from us. This year I truly lived to the fullest, and took on opportunities that I normally wouldn't.

Here's to bringing in 2011.. if it's anything like 2010 I'm sure it will be full of festivities and excitement. Although at this year's end I'm thinking some peace and relaxation sounds just right. (well of course after Mule that is)!

Peace and well being,
Heather

Saturday Morning

Saturday Morning
Sun shining
I'm rising
On the lap of a tree frog
Sage dancing in the air of freedom
